According to Chinese authorities' guideline on accelerating the building of public legal service system and the Ministry of Justice’s guideline on promoting lawyers to participate in public welfare legal services, Lifang & Partners established the Public Interest Law Center of Cultural Heritage to provide legal services for fine traditional Chinese culture’s inheritance, protection, and innovative development.

Lifang's partner, Deng Yao, is served as the center’s director.

Chinese cultural heritage includes tangible heritage (like artifacts) and intangible cultural heritage (ICH), which is an important vehicle for fine traditional Chinese culture and our precious treasure. With its rich experience on intellectual property protection and public welfare legal services, Lifang & Partners would shield for protection and inheritance of cultural heritage.

So far Lifang & Partners has published several books and articles about legal protection of traditional culture, provided public welfare legal services for several intangible cultural heritage entries at or above provincial level, conduced more than 10 legit lectures about intangible cultural heritage protection, and offered legal advisory services for government departments, ICH protection groups and inheritors of more than 100 intangible cultural heritage entries.
