Rhodia wins patent invalidation case against Haideyuan

Recently, Lifang wins another victory for Rhodia in patent disputes with Tianjin Haideyuan Special Materials Co., Ltd (“Haideyuan”). Lifang patners, Xie Guanbin and Sun Xi, represented Rhodia Chimie S.A.S. when Haideyuan filed a petition to invalidate one of Rhodia’s important patents. After SIPO’s Patent Re-examination Board made out a decision declared the patent valid, Haideyuan appealed and was partly supported by the first instance court. Rhodia appealed and Beijing High Court reversed the previous court decision. The patent is now maintained valid.
