Lifang & Partners Mr. Wang Yong (partner) and Ms. Ye Qing (associate) recently joined academics and industry experts at a conference in Shenzhen to discuss issues based on the topic “Internet and Intellectual Property Rights Protections under Criminal Law”. The conference, held on March 17 - 18, 2007, was attended by intellectual property and criminal law experts from universities, governments departments, the courts, NGOs, private companies and law firms.
Keynote speakers included Professor Gao Mingxuan and Professor Liu Chuntian from the People’s University of China, Professor Ma Kechang from Wuhag University, Professor Chen Zhonglin from the Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Professor Dai Yuzhong from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, Professor Hu Yunteng from the Supreme People’s Court, the principals of the Macau Procuratorate Mr. He Chaoming, the Mayor of Shenzhen Mr. Xu Zongheng, a representative of the American Films Association Mr. He Weixiong, and the CEO of Tencent Ma, Huateng.

Wang Yong gave a speech entitled “Discussion on filing requirements and process issues for copyright infringement criminal cases”.
Wang Yong specializes in intellectual property law and focuses on copyright law matters. He is currently an appointed arbitrator at the Domain Name Dispute Resolution Center Arbitration Committee under CIETAC.
